My last night out in Athens was to a rebetiko place called Pinelopi & Mnistires, the restaurant is a fairly small one, the tables were very close to each other and it felt like its one big table and everybody is sitting next to each other like one big party family.
There was a round 60 people in the restaurant, we were 8, and next to us around 20 Athenian women throwing a bachelor party for one of them – well it started that way but after some time the whole restaurant was part of that party-.
Watching all these bikers in Athens riding made miss riding a lot, and wanting to go back to Kuwait to ride my bike…the way motorcyclists ride in Athens is as if they are running away from a volcano, it doesn’t matter if they are ridding a 1300cc bike or just the 50cc delivery scooter…they all ride with an attitude.
Am back in Kuwait now and can’t wait to ride the beast, but unfortunately 2 of my friends crashed a couple of days ago, believe it or not they collided into each other…nothing serious just a couple of cracked rips, a broken arm, and a scare.
The above photo is for a used Desmosedici at a Ducati dealer in Athens with only 600km, they are asking 60000 Euros for it.
The goodbye was not an easy one, we were only 2 guys when we started this trip….and at some point we were around 20+…. friends meets friends and those friends meet other friends.. you make new friends, we were supposed to come back on the 16th, but they did not let us, and we just couldn’t resist the sea, the weather, the food, the people, and the great company of course.
Sorry for not posting much, it was not easy because we were always on the move, and we had so little time…we even didn’t have time to sleep…we never slept more than 4 hours a day….and once we slept in the car on the side of the road because we just couldn’t open our eyes any more and our hotel was only 15min away.
Greece is the kind of place that one would fall in love with, it has a character of its own…and it maintained that character despite all tourism, again you need to know when and where to go.
Yesterday we went to Elounda, it’s about 15min drive form Agia Nicolas, the area has a lot of nice resorts, and its famous for it’s sea food cuisine, a lot of Greek\international celebrities comes here for vacation… oh and its where Spinalonga Island is.
Again we spent the day on the beach then headed to one of the tavernas and had one hell of a dinner.

Yesterday we had our coffee at Agia Nicola, there we met our Greek friends and we all went to the beach…and spent around 5 hours there.
After that we drove outside of Agia Nicola to some village were we had a Mezze lunch at a local Mezze restaurant…i guess it was dinner because it was 7pm already.
we spent a couple of hours eating !! then it was time to go take a shower dress up and and go out again.
We will be checking out of the hotel today and try to find one at Agia Nicola rather than driving up and down to Agia Nicola since we will be spending most of the time there. (more…)
This is our third day in Crete, i did some googling while at the airport waiting to depart and found Minos Imperial Luxury Beach Resort & Spa, the rates were way out of buddget but i gave them a call and got a very good deal so we booked a 2 bedroom suite.. the hotel is 10 min away from Malia and 15 min from Agios Nikolaos, it has a nice beach, around 5 or 6 sea water pools, suites with private pools, kids pools, a small aqua park and everything else that a spa should have.
We couldn’t rent a car at the airport so we had to take a cab and stopped at every car rental office on the way and finally found one at Crete Holidays we got a brand new Fait Panda which is great for the narrow roads of the island.
Three days were more than enough at Zakynthos, we rented a scoter and explored the island which was really cool, my friend got to ride a bike for the first time in his life and i just sat behind him and enjoyed the scenery while he enjoyed driving that scoter up and down the mountain.
Again we have not booked a hotel, but Crete is a big island hopfully we will find something good.
Work in Cairo is all done, so i decided to go from there directly to Greece..the plan was that a friend will also leave Kuwait to meet me in Athens and from there we will catch the first plane to any of the islands.
All went according to plan and we are at a beach in Zakynthos now, talk about planing

Team principals: Eric Boullier (Renault), Stefano Domenicali (Ferrari), Christian Horner (Red Bull) and Colin Kolles (HRT). Q: First of all, can we have a run-down of how things have gone today. Colin, would you like to start. Colin Kolles: Well, we had some technical issues but we managed to go through the programmes. I think that Sakon (Yamamoto) did a goo […]
The morning session may have been dominated by the Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, but by the afternoon the Ferraris of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa had joined the fray at the front. The leading teams and their rivals reflect on their early progress in Budapest
To begin with it was Red Bull team mates Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber who slogged it out for fastest time as the second free practice session got underway at the Hungaroring on Friday afternoon, but as the 90 minutes progressed Ferrari got into the act too, with Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa posting fast times. In the end Vettel aced everyone with 1m […]
