It was a very fast and entertaining race yesterday at Laguna Seca, it kicked off with the trademark start by Pedrosa from the second row all the way to leading the race.
Both Lorenzo and Pedrosa were pushing it to the limit until Pedrosa crashed, and Lorenzo cruised to the checker flag, we were hopping to witness a fight between Rossi and Stoner but the gab was a bit big, on the other hand Rossi fought well for the 3rd position which was very entertaining.
Dani Pedrosa delivered a spectacle performance yesterday at Sachsenring, the star of the race was Rossi who made a great come back and was about to finish with a podium spot but Stoner managed to over take him at the final corner of the race.
1. Vale, first question: how are you and are you still in pain?
The positive thing is that the worst is past and that the two operations went well, so everything is okay. Now I am expecting a difficult period, in which I have to be aware of the risk of infection and in which I must remain with the leg constantly elevated. Then there will come a second key period, when I will be able to start my rehabilitation and, with support on the leg, will be able to start to walk around with crutches.
2. Dr. Buzzi talked about a rehabilitation period of about five or six months, what do you think? (more…)
The crash Rossi had yesterday during the practice session left him with a broken tibia and fibula of the right leg, he was operated on for around 3 hours and the surgery was a success…the doctors used Spinal Block (epidural) insted of general anesthesia which means that Rossi was awake during the surgery and can see and hear all the cutting and drilling to his leg but without feeling any pain.
The bad news is that he will be out of the track for around 5 month, so today’s race at Mugello will be with out Rossi.
All he had to do was to overtake Rossi and things just fell in place after that, this is what he had to say:
“Passing Valentino wasn’t so easy because he was braking so deep and I had to be very patient, something that I might not have managed one year ago! Finally I overtook him but I didn’t expect to be able to get away like that. My bike and Bridgestone tyres just felt so good and it wasn’t difficult for me to keep this pace up.”
The real battle was between the two Honda team mates Pedrosa and Dovizioso, Dovizioso managed to steal the third place at podium from Pedrosa at the final lap.
I posted eriler about the rumor of Casey Stoner transition to Honda, it seams the rumor is true and his marriage with Ducati ends at the end of the WSBK 2010…its said that the move is orchestrated by Livio Suppo an ex project manager at Ducati MotoGP.
I did not have any doubts that Lorenzo will win in Jerez…and he did.
The race was a complete bore, but with 5 laps to race finish it started to get exiting..and the fight began between the 2 spanish riders began..and it was a hell of a fight, they almost crashed twice.
Check out how Lorenzo celebrated his victory(more…)

The top riders in WSBK relied on their Friday best times to determine the leading few places going forward to this afternoon's Superpole qualifying session. Cal Crutchlow remained top on his Yamaha Sterilgarda machine, with only three riders improving their best times as the track surface slowly dried out this morning. Jonathan Rea was fastest in today […]
Mark Webber dominated the final session of practice prior to Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying, finishing the hour 0.484s ahead of Red Bull team mate Sebastian Vettel whose final three efforts to unseat him came up short. Webber's lap of 1m 19.574s struck terror into the hearts of rivals, and just to rub their noses in it, Vettel's lap of 1m 20.058s […]
Team principals: Eric Boullier (Renault), Stefano Domenicali (Ferrari), Christian Horner (Red Bull) and Colin Kolles (HRT). Q: First of all, can we have a run-down of how things have gone today. Colin, would you like to start. Colin Kolles: Well, we had some technical issues but we managed to go through the programmes. I think that Sakon (Yamamoto) did a goo […]
