I’ll be going on a little bike trip next week, and i needed a bag to carry my stuff so i got this BMW bag…its a 55 liter soft bag with a semi hard bottom.
Its water proof and can sit on the pillion seat or on the luggage rack and strapped to the bike chassis, it comes with 6 pairs of straps -different sizes-, side\top pockets, light reflectors, and a shoulder strap.
In case you need to know, i easily stuffed it with 16 t-shirts, 3 jeans, 3 shorts, 2 swimming shorts, 10 underwear’s, 3 pairs of shoes, a Flip-flop, socks, laptop, camera, chargers, toiletries, and the travel documents in the transparent upper pocket.
I like the quality of and design of the bag that i also got the smaller one -30 Liters-. (more…)

All the photos i took were bad because of the weather so i decided to use a stock photo
Early morning on Saturday i started getting the usual SMSs’ form the guys asking me to wake up and join them for a ride, they knew i had the RSV4 Factory and they wanted to see how it performs and properly take it for a spin….i wasn’t interested in waking up early because i thought its still dusty outside, but i took a peak from behind the curtains and the next thing you know am doing +200km/h on the first curve that came my way… -it’s only when the curve ended i realized how fast i was going!- (more…)

Apple just launched the iPad, the device is just a bigger iPhone but without the phone, but with 3G connection that we can use to place VOIP calls, a lot of people my have been disappointed or was expecting something much more interesting than just a bigger iPod\iPhone, but i was expecting this since the day i got addicted to my iPhone, the damn thing dosn’t leave my hand..it goes to all the places i go to especially the toilet in the morning, either to listen to music while showering or to check and answer emails while….
I can conduct around 70% of my office work communication using my iPhone but at so many occasions i wished it had a bigger screen, faster processor, better battery life, and the ability to save files and open\play different media formats, the same goes for my laptop i always wanted a faster, lighter 12 inch Mac with better battery life -am still using my 12″ PB G4-.
With the new iPad i believe i can do it all, and i very much belive its going to be the next and only business\entertainment gadget one will ever need…come to think of it at the office most of us use their computers for email, internet, and socializing, at home we use our laptops for the same plus watching movie, listing to music, and gaming, the iPad will do all that and maybe more, so i guess we’ll soon say goodbye to our laptops or we’ll just use them edit home movies.

I visited Bike World showroom today to check if they got any new\interesting bikes, and i wasn’t disappointed…they had the new spacial edition Griso, the GRISO 8V SE.
The bike comes only in a matte green finish with race stripes that gives it a sporty look, a brown leather saddle with classic stitching, and to top up the classic looks it also comes with Alpina spoked wheels, these wheels are the best tubeless spoked wheels on the market and are race ready, i even upgraded my Duc with a set of their Tattoo line.. what surprised me even more is the use of floating discs breaks and calipers, a race technology that you don’t usually see on a production bike.
This bike needs someone with a very spacial taste to appreciate the name and the history of Moto Guzzi, someone that appreciate the good looks, someone with a character, someone that will look like the cherry on the cake when riding this master piece.
I hate the Italians, because all their creation constantly reminds me that i am not Jay Leno and i can’t afford a grage like Jay Leno’s Garage , and to own every bike you like would be like getting married to every beautiful women you meet….its never ending.
l think this Guzzi was born a classic, so if you like classic bikes then this one must be among your collection and you have got to see it in person to know what i am talking about.

A couple of my friends are hard core Hayabusa fans, they have ridden almost all kind of bikes but they swear by the Hayabusa, the other day we were having coffee at TriStar and they were asking me about my K1300R and if it really performs like a 1300cc machine..they were like: we know it has good breaks and traction -a couple of things the Haybusa lacks- but is it as fast as Busa ?
My answer was: yes it is very powerful but it can’t compete with thr Hayabusa when it comes to top end speed becuase its a naked bike and lacks the wind tunnel aerodynamics the Busa has….we had a long debate then decided to put both machines to the test, so we went to a place were we can test them, we did a couple of test runs then 2 final runs to crown a winner. Tristar gave me the new BMW S1000RR to ride on the weekend, i had to promise not to rev it to more than 9,000 rpm – a promise i broke at the first red traffic light turned green-, i don’t know where to start in describing the double RR, the bike is the size of 600cc but with a 1000cc engine, it has a very nice seating position…and all the technology that BMW is famous for -Race ABS, Race Traction Control, Shift Assist, 4 riding modes..etc -.
It took me some time to build trust in the technology and put it to the test, when i say putting it to the test i mean taking the bike to the limits…and frankly i couldn’t take it to the limit – i guess am getting old -. (more…)

“This post took three days to complete, as am not able to use more than three fingers”
For the past week i have in and out of hospitals quit a few times, most of them in an ambulance…now the funny thing is the ambulance crew – at least the couple i’v been to- are from different nationalities…you would find an Arab with a Philippino or Indian, the Arab can do little english hardly enough to order combo meal from Macdonalds…the Philippino and the Indian can also do little Arabic much better than the Arab english…so i leave u to imagine the kind of communication between them..how long would it take to convey massage.
The other day my nose started bleeding, at first i thought it will stop in a minute or two, but the bleeding became worse and so much like water fountain -not joking- and since am all wrapped up and not very mobile my mom -who happened to be next to me at the time- called the ambulance…after 30min and a 100 calls to 777 telling them that i started to lose conscious they arrive and tried to stop the bleeding by using ice but after some time they realized it can’t be stopped and they need to take me to a hospital, so they take me to Al-Amiri and am in the emergency room bleeding, vomiting clotted blood, and suffocating waiting for a doctor to take a look at me, and all the nurses could do is push the trash-with their foot- closer to my bed and ask to to aim right and not mess up the floor!!!!!
15 min later an Indian doctor shows up with yellow smile asks the nurse for some gauze, stuffted it in my nose and asked why was i brought here…i should have been taken directly to the Ear, Nose and Throat hospital !!!
While he was saying that a guy comes in and ask them to clear the room and get ready for a critical condition on the way, i was pushed quickly to the next room and a couple of minutes later comes the critical condition a 103 years age man who was already dead !!!
So if you think what you see at ER episodes -medical drama series- on TV happens here then am sorry to disappoint you…and as my friend descried the ambulance crew are no more than “دريول وحمال” and a former taxi dispatcher at other end of the radio.
To be continued…

Yesterday was Masoud’s 3rd day on the track with the S1000RR, below is his update.
“Where do I begin…Its 5 hours later and I’m still on that adrenaline fix (no pun intended). This wont be a full update…I’ll leave that till I get back home and get my bearings balanced again.
I started off riding in the Red group (the medium to fast group). I was riding up so hard on the instructor that he later put in me in the black group (fast group). Keep in mind that this was my first ever ride on a race track with full leather kit! The only faster group was the double black group and that consisted only of 3 guys that race in the IDM championship. The bike I was riding had a lot to do with that. It was EASY to ride fast! Masoud is having an exciting time in Spain, this is his second day at the launch of the S1000RR, and this is what he has to say:
“This is pretty intense. I never in my wildest dreams expected this from the Bavarian giants. We went through some intensive training today about the S1000RR (or as they like to call it here…the RrrrRrrr). (more…)

Our fellow rider and blog contributer Masoud is in Spain for the launch of the new BMW super bike, he just sent us this update:
” Landing in Barcelona, I was wisked away to a secret location. It seemed like I was headed to a Nucluer Reactor’s location. The driver wouldn’t tell me where we were headed to (or he just didnt understand a word of english)… (more…)

I haven’t been riding my bikes this summer, i was either traveling or the weather is too hot to ride…i think more than 4 month have past since i last started them up…that made the batteries really weak, but they were still able to crank the engine, so i figured if i don’t do something about it really quick they will probably die and have to change them.
So i went and bought the Optimate 3+ battery charger, the charger comes with a Ducati adapter and i bought an extra adapter for the BMW, it verify, tests, and confirms whether the battery can retain sufficient charge to crank the engine, it applies ‘first aid’ for up to 2 hours, to recover the battery so it can again accept charge…then it engages the long term maintenance mode, it “floats & tests” 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off, so the battery is always 100% ready, but never overcharged.
I hooked it to the BMW and left over night to charge, the next morning i went to check it just to find out that the cleaners decided to hose the parking and that my Optimate 3+ was completely wet…it was actually swimming in a small pool of water but still working!! i unplugged it and went to read the manual to check what could be done…to my surprise the thing turns out water broof!!
Lesson learned: always read the manual before operating anything no matter how silly you may think it is.

This is our third day in Crete, i did some googling while at the airport waiting to depart and found Minos Imperial Luxury Beach Resort & Spa, the rates were way out of buddget but i gave them a call and got a very good deal so we booked a 2 bedroom suite.. the hotel is 10 min away from Malia and 15 min from Agios Nikolaos, it has a nice beach, around 5 or 6 sea water pools, suites with private pools, kids pools, a small aqua park and everything else that a spa should have.
We couldn’t rent a car at the airport so we had to take a cab and stopped at every car rental office on the way and finally found one at Crete Holidays we got a brand new Fait Panda which is great for the narrow roads of the island.

Cairo,
Make sure you stay at a 10 Stars hotel -Sofitel El Gezirah is good-, you don’t need to spend more than 2 days there…the morning of the first day you visit the pyramids and museum in the afternoon you find a good restaurant and have lunch -grilled\fried sea food is your safest bet, then go back to the hotel for a siesta.
In the evening you could take a Nile tour -hotels have the best ones- at night around 1 am find a good night club to watch belly dancing because you didn’t visit Cairo if don’t do a belly dance night.. at 7am you leave the night club back to hotel have breakfast and sleep.
Night clubs: Samire Amis Intercontinental and a couple at Haram St.
Restaurants: Abu El Seed, and Nile City.
Coffee: On The Go at any gas station, Bottled Water: Nestle
Don’t ask taxi drivers or waiters for recommendations, only ask the concierge or do some googling. (more…)
